Hatchet Alone in a plane with a pilot going to see your dad, usually nothing happens right?Well not for Brian Robeson.Suddenly the pilot has a heart attack and bam is dead.Now Brian is alone and over the middle of nowhere in the Canadian woods.He crash lands in a lake and almost dies.He spends the first few days sleeping but now he must find food or he is the done living.He finds a bush of cherries and soon finds they make him very sick.He then finds raspberries and they are fine.He soon learns to survive the ways of the woods.He gets fish and the stupid fool birds as he calls them.They are the birds that lie along the bank of the lake and don’t fly up until he is 3 feet from them.Also finds fire is his cave home.He strikes his only tool his hatchet against the side and gets sparks.He makes balls of tree bark to hold the sparks and bam he has fire.He is hoping that the search planes will find him so he makes a huge signal fire on the hill and says if he thinks he hears an engine he will run up and light it.Will they find him or will he never be found and have to live in the woods forever?Hatchet, look for it in your local library.
